Mud Creations!
It’s mud season! Playing in the mud isn’t just fun—it also boosts your child’s physical and emotional well-being. Here are some fun ways that we like to play in the mud at Thorne’s Boulder County Summer Camps and at Thorne Nature Preschool.
Muddy Fun:
Set up an outdoor shop. Take a table outside and use your mud kitchen to make some mud pies to sell. Price them up and make some pebble currency and you are ready to go.
Make a potion. Collect petals and herbs that are growing in the garden and infuse them with hot water to make a potion. Or challenge your child by making a list of harder-to-find ingredients. Here are some of our favorite potion recipes.
Make mud cakes. Kids will delight in being given real candles so they can make a real mud-pie birthday cake!
